We formed Cyclone BioEnergy LLC in 2006 for one simple, overriding reason: We have children, and we’re concerned about their energy future. We know the solution to our energy crisis lies in many alternative sources, but biofuels are here now, they require less-radical changes to the delivery infrastructure, and they’re a viable source of clean, renewable energy.
We take great pride in educating our customers on the benefits of biofuels, helping them implement an effective biofuel strategy, and purchasing, blending, marketing, and distributing high-quality, domestically produced products.
A Different Kind of Distributor
The products we deliver are essentially no different than our customers could get from our competitors, possibly even at a lower price. Our customers choose Cyclone because we’re so much more than a delivery service. Yes, we’ll deliver your order the next day, but we’ll also follow-up at your site to ensure your satisfaction. When you call us, the person you reach will actually be able to DO something for you besides taking a message. Bioenergy is relatively new, so the industry and its technology are always changing — rapidly. Cyclone is here to answer your questions and help you make informed decisions.
Our Customers
We are able to help virtually any organization with its bioenergy needs — and not only by delivering competitively priced, high-quality products.
Our initial focus has been on Texas school districts, helping them save money by applying for federal funding under an existing Department of Energy school bus program to support biofuels usage. We also work extensively with local and state governments that operate vehicle fleets. As opportunities with fleet operations other than school districts and governments arise, we’ll use our expertise and Fleet Management Model to help these customers make a smooth, painless and cost-effective transition to biofuels.
Our Suppliers
Cyclone has developed relationships with producers in different regions and negotiates for the sale and delivery of biofuels to our customers from those producers in closest proximity to the fleets we serve — thus enabling ultra-fast response time and next-day delivery with minimal logistical headaches.
We are also working with biodiesel additive manufacturers to manage and reduce mono-nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from biodiesel. In addition, Cyclone regularly evaluates the most cost-effective methods for blending our products, as well as new and better delivery alternatives.
HUB Status
Cyclone BioEnergy is certified for the Texas Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Program. The Program defines a HUB as:
- At least 51 percent owned by an Asian Pacific American, Black American, Hispanic American, Native American and/or American woman;
- an entity with its principal place of business in Texas, and
- with an owner residing in Texas with a proportionate interest that actively participates in the control, operations and management of the entity’s affairs.
Texas requires each state agency to establish its own goals for contracting with HUBs in each procurement category, based on scheduled fiscal year expenditures and the availability of HUBs in each category.
Cyclone is also in the process of obtaining SBA’s Section 8(a) and DBE certifications.
